Residents of the United Kingdom and other countries can legally marry in Georgia under simplified legislation. Marriages between foreigners are registered and recognized without the need to obtain citizenship or go through lengthy procedures. It is sufficient to provide valid international passports, a contact phone number, and complete the registration. Once done, the union is legally recognized and can be legalized in the UK.

Legalization and apostille requirements

If the couple plans to reside in a country that is not part of the Hague Convention, apostille alone will not be sufficient, and consular legalization will be required.
